Imagine the transformation
God could accomplish in the Greater Dayton area when individuals from our
parish and the surrounding parishes unite together for 40 days of prayer and fasting,
and visibly standing up for the sanctity of human life! The local effort begins
September 24 and ends November 2. Please consider
fasting and praying each day. Fasting can be eliminating a meal, eating smaller
meals, or fasting from a certain food, drink, or activity.
The 40 Days of Prayer Campaign is a nationwide effort currently underway, from today, September 24 to November 2, to visibly stand for the sanctity of human life. To view this website, you can go to: http://www.40daysforlife.com/dayton
The campaign involves prayer,
fasting, and peaceful activism to cover abortion centers round-the-clock with
people praying in front for 40 days. For more information

(Women Affirming Life, |
Every
Day Prayer:
|
Every day, O Lord, God,
men and women (who are your children and our brothers and sisters) seek a
final solution to their immediate problems in the killing of an unborn
child. |
|
This temptation is
especially strong today when the law in many lands no longer protects
innocent human life. |
|
Grant us, O Lord, a new
appreciation of its sanctity. |
|
We pray that you will send
today to the person you know is most in need of it, the grace to reject this
unloving expedient. |
|
Send to that person, whose
name is known only to you, the courage to persevere, so that the child
already living (whom you have loved from all eternity) will be born safely to
grow in knowledge, in love, and in service of you. |
|
Help us too, dear Lord, so
to know, love, and serve you that we shall never fail those who need
us. |
|
Show us how to make our
society one in which no child is unwanted, no adult feels abandoned, and the
pressures which lead to abortion no longer exist. |
|
For these intentions, Lord,
and in union with your sacrifice on the cross, we offer to you the trials and
anxieties which may come to us today. |
|
Grant, Lord Jesus, that
those who acknowledge the sanctity of life will be inspired by you to lead a
life of sanctity. |

Prayer for the closing of an abortion mill:
Father, all life is in Your
care.
You have entrusted us to one another,
that we may show our brothers and sisters
the same love You have for us.
We pray, then, for the least among us,
the children in the womb.
Protect them from the violence of abortion.
We pray for those that are scheduled to die at [the Women's
Save them from death.
Give new hope to their parents,
that they may turn away from the desperate act of abortion.
Grant conversion to the abortionist and to the staff.
Show us how we are to respond to the bloodshed in our midst,
And lead us to the day when this place of death
Will be transformed into a haven of life.
Guard us with your joy and your peace,
For in You, life is victorious.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
